I have always been drawn to objects and surfaces that bear witness to the passage of time. Looking for the line, the balance, the construction and destruction. My process is an additive/subtractive method, that when it is repeated, allows the work to find life. I often begin with words or old papers. An organic ‘what’s next’ begins to unfold: a dialogue of form, tone and texture. The ebb and flow of discover/remembrance, something new comes forth. The unpredictable nature of this way of working find beauty in imperfection as in the cycle of life. A metaphor in letting go and acceptance as it chooses the path to manifest.
